Our STEAM Challenge is a great way to invite students to practice researching and using their imagination, in a way that will get them excited to want to do ART!
For this challenge, students will make a piece of art.
Are you up for the challenge? Create a beautiful piece of art melting crayons.
What you need:
Poster board or Canvas (Poster Board Might Make Crayons Run A Little More)
Hot Glue Gun
Markers (If Adding Additional Decorations)
What you need to do…
Pick the crayons you want and place on the board where desired.
Take the hot glue gun (with supervision) and glue the crayons down.
Stand the poster board/canvas with the crayons at the top, so that when melting they drip down (make sure to lay newspaper, paper, cardboard at the bottom to catch any run away melting pieces).
Take a hair dryer and point at the middle of the crayons (on high) when the crayons start to melt turn the hair dryer on low.
Once you get the desired melting design, stop using the hair dryer and let the item lay flat to finish drying.
When dry add additional decorations as wanted and enjoy your beautiful piece of art!
